So I thought this would be a fun little thing to do as I have been intrigued by the one length concept for a few years now. So while you will need a pretty accurate swing overall, the Radspeed irons will provide an excellent balance between distance and short-game performance if your swing accuracy is indeed up to par.Ok. The Radspeed irons also feature a prominent sole so they work well from the rough and the shorter irons produce plenty of launch. Still, the 10 gram toe screw and matching weight in the heel produces a near-perfectly balanced set of irons. There is a thin margin of error with almost every iron in this set. The caveat with this set is that it is not very forgiving. The long irons in this set will certainly up your ball speed and distance – if you can make consistently accurate contact. We have tested Radspeed clubs in the past and one thing we know about them is that they live up to the “Radspeed” moniker. Our first impressions after just a few swings with the 4 iron in this set was that it produces ridiculously fast ball speeds.Īnd we weren’t surprised at this. While the Cobra Radspeed irons have more to offer mid to low handicappers, newbies should check out the Cobra Speedzone irons. The CG is lower and they feel more stable and controllable than the Cobra Radspeed irons. In reality, the Speedzone irons feel nicer and more congenial to how a beginner is likely to swing. If you are looking for a more forgiving set of Cobra irons, you should look into the Speedzone irons. Should you Buy the Radspeed Irons or the Speedzone Irons? They are highly workable and if your swing mechanics are on point, they will serve you well. In general though, they are still better than a great deal of irons on the market today. What we mean is that they simply aren’t the best irons for beginners. They launch high and the short irons give you excellent spin control. However, that’s not to say that they have nothing to offer high handicappers and beginners. The Cobra Radspeed irons have more to offer players with a few seasons under their belts. Are Cobra Radspeed Irons Good for Beginners and High Handicappers? The blades are relatively short for cavity back irons so you will need to be able to make consistent contact with the ball in order to unlock the speed and distance that these irons have to offer. The main issue here is head shape and blade length. We won’t mince words: the Cobra Radspeed irons, even with the extreme perimeter weighting and cavity back design are still not the most forgiving irons on the market. Overall, the Cobra Radspeed irons will give you the kind of ball speed you need to get down the fairway in a hurry. The lattice design keeps mass and weight down so as the name implies, these irons swing fast. These are cavity back irons with a latticed, 3D printed back medallion. However, they Cobra Radspeed irons have a high MOI and still generate the kind of ball speed that you would expect when you hear the name Radspeed. With extreme heel/toe weighting, this is a surprisingly forgiving set of irons from a company that specializes in player’s performance clubs.įor instance, the Cobra Radspeed driver is not for the feint of heart.
